An iconic racing track

At the end of the Second World War, « a real mountain circuit is missing in France » regrets the quadruple world champion Louis Rosier.

The idea made its way, so that on July 27th 1958, at the foot of the Puy-de-Dôme among the extinct volcanoes, is inaugurated the mountain circuit of Charade. Qualified as the most beautiful circuit in the world by Sir Stirling Moss or more recently Alain Prost, dozens of races including 4 Grand Prix of France Formula 1 between 1965 and 1972 would follow with Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark, Jean- Pierre Beltoise, Jacky Ickx …

Located at high altitude and hidden by the forest, the circuit has something secret, as a place well known by racing enthusiasts. A haven of peace in greenery that welcomes you between the charm of volcanoes, with nature as only panorama.

A Technical Track

Long, hilly, winding. Charade is a complete and varied racing track. Everyone will find his favorite section on its 4 km : hairpin curved sections, straight lines, climbs, descents. Nothing is missing on this mountain circuit.

A Sky-Opened Museum

True monument of motorsport, the Charade circuit remains one of the few places that has preserved all the essence and richness of its historical heritage. As a witness of the golden age of racing, it will delight every nostalgic.
