Much More Than a Simple Driving Experience
A historic single-seater ice driving course is worlds apart from a traditional track experience. It is a total immersion into the world of drifting, where every detail is designed to let you experience the thrill of this discipline with a vintage spirit. At Classic Racing School, this course allows both enthusiasts and novices to take the wheel of our Crosslé 90F authentic historic single-seaters and discover the finesse of ice driving in a secure environment guided by professionals.
Unlike traditional track courses focused purely on performance, our ice driving course emphasizes car control, precision, reading the lines, and understanding the car’s behavior. It is a different approach, placing the driver at the heart of a discipline reinvented through our historic machines. Ice driving reveals every mistake, but rewards every bit of progress.

Guided Progression Throughout the Day
From the moment they arrive, participants are immersed in a unique setting. The glistening ice and the single-seaters immediately set the tone : the experience will be as intense as it is breathtaking.
The briefing and the reconnaissance lap are two key moments for exchange, allowing us to present the day’s schedule, specific ice safety rules, and the fundamental principles of driving on low-grip surfaces. Driving on ice follows very different rules than on a dry track, and this preparation phase is essential to approach the track with confidence. Participants will identify the racing lines, braking zones, and key points of the ice circuit. Once these markers are set, it’s time to climb into the cockpit.
3 Highlights of the Day
Our course at the Flaine ice circuit is divided into three main stages. Before each highlight, instructors accompany participants on recon laps to present the layouts, share key advice, and prepare for each driving phase calmly.
HIGHLIGHT 1: Taking Control of the Single-Seater
The day begins with two “car control” workshops designed to get a feel for the car on ice. Split into small groups, participants alternate between two complementary tracks to progressively discover the car’s reactions. Acceleration, braking, slide management, and steering precision are at the heart of this first phase. The goal is simple : build confidence, understand the car’s behavior, and lay the foundations of ice driving.

HIGHLIGHT 2: Preparing for the Full Circuit
Once the fundamentals are mastered, it’s time to prepare for the main track. Participants continue their learning on two circuit configurations, alternating routes to refine their lines and “read” the ice. This phase focuses on fluidity and anticipation, adapting driving style to longer sequences of corners. Instructor feedback accompanies every session to help everyone gain precision and consistency.

HIGHLIGHT 3: Laps on the Full Ice Circuit
The afternoon is dedicated to driving on the full circuit. This time, groups move together on the complete layout, offering a global and immersive vision of ice driving. Sessions follow one another, allowing participants to put everything they learned in the morning into practice. Racing lines, drift management, and confidence behind the wheel all come together in an intense and authentic experience in a unique natural environment.

An Experience to Live and Share
Guests are more than welcome and can fully enjoy the event. Whether it’s accessing the paddock, watching the cars in action, or soaking up the friendly and sporting atmosphere, ice driving is just as exciting from the trackside.
