Book “DEPAILLER par Depailler”

Éric Bhat is fascinated by Patrick Depailler, whom he observed during a Grand Prix in Pau. The latter began his career in motorcycling with the help of Jean-Pierre Beltoise and quickly made a name for himself. From 1976 onward, Éric joined the sports press—the same year Depailler drove the six-wheeled Tyrrell. In 1979, one devoted himself to the magazine Grand Prix International, while the other, at Ligier, became one of the favorites for the Formula One World Championship. They regularly crossed paths during Grands Prix, which strengthened their relationship of trust. When Patrick tragically passed away in 1980, his son Loïc was only seven years old. He would soon share the same passion for mechanics and racing. Loïc and Éric together paint a dual portrait of father and son, with the help of numerous witnesses. This book, born of their friendship, explores the idea of transmission and pays tribute to Patrick Depailler.
