Designed for Learning
A historic single-seater driving course at Classic Racing School is much more than a simple track session. It is a complete immersion into the world of racing as it was practiced during the golden age of motorsport, behind the wheel of authentic single-seaters on a legendary track.
Each course begins with a welcome that reflects the spirit of Classic Racing School: friendly, refined, and timeless. After a general briefing, participants discover the environment, the cars, and the day’s schedule. The objective is clear from the start: to allow everyone to progress, regardless of their level, within a secure and structured framework.

Learning to Drive “The Old-School Way”
The heart of every course we offer lies in driving our historic Crosslé 90F single-seaters, identical to those that graced the starting grids in the 1960s. Lightweight, without electronic assistance, and extremely communicative, these cars offer a unique feel.
Before taking to the track, each participant is guided to understand the driving position, how the car operates, and the essential basics of single-seater racing.
On the track, sessions follow a progressive rhythm. Driving is supervised by experienced instructors who support participants at every stage. Briefings, track time, and personalized debriefings: everything is designed to help you understand the car and the track, improve your lines, and gain fluidity lap after lap. Here, performance is achieved through precision, feel, and consistency, far more than by chasing the clock.
What About the Cars?
At the core of the Classic Racing School experience, participants take the wheel of a Crosslé 90F, a faithful reissue of the legendary 1969 Formula Ford. Hand-built in the historic Belfast workshops using original blueprints and period methods, this single-seater embodies the golden age of motorsport.
Lightweight, without power steering or electronics, it offers the raw and authentic sensations that trained legends like Ayrton Senna or Jenson Button. With 130 horsepower for just 420 kg, the Crosslé 90F transforms every lap into a true journey through time—an experience made even more unique by the fact that it can only be driven in one place in the world: at Classic Racing School.

A Complete Experience on a Legendary Circuit
A historic single-seater course allows you to rediscover the fundamentals of driving. Without ABS, power steering, or electronic aids, the driver must learn to manage weight transfer, braking, and traction with finesse.
This approach makes the learning process particularly rewarding and offers raw sensations rarely accessible today.
The courses primarily take place on the Charade circuit, a track nestled in the heart of the Auvergne volcanoes. This exceptional setting enhances the experience and plunges participants into an atmosphere steeped in history. Between sessions, they also enjoy the comfort of our lounge, designed for relaxing after each stint, where everyone has access to drinks and snacks.
More Than a Course: An Immersion
Participating in a historic single-seater course at Classic Racing School means living a day suspended in time. It is an experience that combines learning, adrenaline, and heritage, allowing you to understand what driving a single-seater truly means in its purest and most authentic form.
